The Enriched Air Diver course is the most popular PADI specialty course in the world, and there’s a practical reason for that: It requires minimal effort, and the benefits are immediately noticeable. You breathe a mixture with more oxygen and less nitrogen than air—typically 32 or 36 percent oxygen—and in return, you get longer no-decompression limits.

What makes this course special: There are no dives, and you don't need any equipment. The PADI standard does not require any dives for the Enriched Air Diver certification. You come in with a notepad and a dive computer, walk out after a few hours with your certification, and from then on, you can dive with nitrox at dive centers worldwide.

We offer the course on fixed evening dates listed in the calendar. You can plan ahead; we teach a real group, and the price remains at €159.

What to expect

PADI e-Learning in Advance

The theory portion begins online: oxygen levels, oxygen toxicity, nitrogen loading, and dive planning with enriched air, featuring videos and knowledge tests. Plan on three to four hours, which you can complete at your own pace. Access is included in the price and is yours to keep forever.

The evening event here at our center

Why Nitrox works: less nitrogen in the mix, less nitrogen absorption, longer no-decompression limits—most noticeably between 18 and 30 meters. Maximum operating depth: oxygen becomes toxic under pressure; with EAN32 and 1.4 bar, the limit is around 33 meters. You’ll learn how to determine it yourself for each mix. Analyzing the tank: you’ll practice using an analyzer to measure the oxygen content of a tank yourself and learn how to document the result in the fill log—this is how it’s done later wherever you have Nitrox filled. Setting the dive computer correctly: we’ll go through this using the actual equipment you’ll be using.

Examination and Certification

At the end of the evening, there will be a short written test. You'll receive your digital certification card right after the test.

Not included:

  • Equipment — because none is needed. The course is a dry course. Just bring your dive computer if you have one.

Requirements

  • PADI Open Water Diver or a recognized equivalent certification from another organization such as CMAS or SSI—just bring your certification card with you.

  • Minimum age: 12 years.

  • No minimum number of dives, no swimming test, and no medical certificate required. There is no diving in this course.

Nitrox Course in Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main Region

The course takes place entirely at our location: Vogesenstraße 12C in Frankfurt-Schwanheim, a 500-square-meter space that includes a store, rental service, and equipment service. Customer parking is available behind the building (entrance at Am Kirchholz 12); to get there, take the A5 and then Schwanheimer Bahnstraße. It takes 15 to 20 minutes from Sachsenhausen, Niederrad, and Höchst, and a good half hour from Offenbach, Rüsselsheim, Hanau, and Bad Homburg.

That's exactly why the evening format works: You can stop by after work without having to sacrifice your weekend.

What comes after the Nitrox course?

For many, the Enriched Air Diver course is their first specialty—it’s short, affordable, and you can start diving right away. It’s one of the five specialties required to become a Master Scuba Diver; when purchased as a bundle with the other four specialties, the entire program costs €999.

It can be effectively combined with the DEEP DIVERcourse, since both courses cover gas planning and depth limits, and with the ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER, if you haven't earned that certification yet.

FAQ

  • No. The PADI Enriched Air Diver course does not require any dives. It is a theory course with practical exercises using an analyzer and a dive computer—conducted on land, here at our center.

  • 159 euros. This includes PADI e-Learning, the in-person evening session, the exam, and certification. There are no equipment, pool, or lake fees, because the course doesn't require them.

  • About three to four hours of e-learning, which you can schedule at your convenience, plus one evening session at our location.

  • On fixed evenings announced in advance. The current dates are listed in our calendar.

  • No. If you have your own dive computer, bring it with you—then we'll set it up together right away.

  • No, on the contrary. The higher oxygen content reduces the maximum operating depth—to about 33 meters with EAN32. Nitrox extends dive time, not depth.

  • Ages 12 and up, with an Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification.

  • No. PADI certifications never expire and are recognized worldwide.
